Doctor Appointment

At the girls doctor's appointment, they were weighed and measured, but not poked (no shots). It would have been an easy visit if the girls were in a good mood (but they were not). The details are as follows:

Evelyn weighs 25lbs (26th percentile) and measures 33 inches (32nd percentile); Sylvia weighs just one pound more at 26lbs (40th percentile) and measures 33 inches (also 32nd percentile). The doctor calculated their height percentiles at 58%, but after checking with a calculator on-line, I found those to be high.

Regardless, they are doing great. They are far exceeding the threshold developmental milestones. Our next biggest challege is potty training. The girls have their potty's, but aren't very interested yet. They can tell us before they go #2 and want changed immediately, but won't sit on the potty. Sylvia can sometimes tell me when she is peeing or about to and then asked to be changed (again, not interested in sitting on the potty to do this). Our big toilet training push will come after our trip to visit Great Granny in July. I don't want huge messes over a day long of travel. No thanks!

So, here's to looking onward to challenges of 2's with 2. I'm absolutely sure there will be plenty of wine and cocktails had to get through it. ha!

Happy Birthday Videos

Lots of stuff going on for their big day!

We Are TWO!

Sylvia and Evelyn turned 2 at 7:17pm and 7:18pm, April 28th! What a huge milestone for them and for David and I. Here are some pictures of their special day. Gram and Gramps were in town and we all went to the Baltimore aquarium, out for lunch, back home for naps, up for presents, birthday cake and pizza. Such good fun. Their birthday party with their friends is May 7th. Happy Birthday my sweet little girls.

Hot Spring Days

We've had several HOT spring days lately. And, Gram and Gramps visited us again for a whole week! We spent most days outdoors when it was nice. The girls enjoy snacking, bubbles, swingset, sandbox, sprinkler. We are so very fortunate to have such great outdoors space for the girls. Probably overkill on pictures, but oh well.

Easter!

The girls had a great Easter and got into their easter surprises the Friday before. Silly girls. They are now officially crazy for easter baskets and bubbles. It's almost worse than the iPad for Sylvia. She's obsessed. Wakes up from naps -- My Easter Ba Bak. We had the Davis' over for an egg hunt and dinner (non-traditional burgers on the grill!). Ducks even paid us a surprise visit, but Wyatt was quick to chase the off. So cute! On Monday, the girls went to the White House Easter Egg Roll with Gram and Gramps.

Perfect Day for Ice Cream

It was a week away from their first birthday and super lot -- like close to 90 degrees, so I took the girls for their first ice cream at Baskin Robbins. The shared one kids cup of cookies and cream and strawberry ice creams. They both did a great job and barely made a mess. Sylvia was very sad when hers turned to liquid and Evelyn would have eaten the cup if I let her. Little piggies.

Easter Egg Hunt

Our new neighbhorhood hosts lots of fun activities. This weekend we attended the Easter Egg Hunt. It was good fun. The girls collected lots of eggs and experienced their first M&M and jellybeans. There was really no stopping it. They were crazy for the candy. They had a great time, but Sylvia continues to freak out around characters. She seriously freaked a few weeks ago when we went to meet the Hungry Caterpillar.

Mt Vernon

We've mentioned before we are members of Mt Vernon. When Evelyn was down with a cough last week they skipped our typical activities with friends and headed down the road to Mt Vernon.

First Popscicle

Evelyn had a cough and the doctor said "give her a popscicle." We've done honey before, but not this. Of course, both had to have one. They loved it.

Everyday Cuteness!

Can you tell they are just full of it? Personality...that is!

Daddy Mo Mo

When Grandpa visited this time, he brought Daddy a really exciting gift. A Harley Davidson motorcycle. The girls call it "Daddy's Mo-Mo." I don't know why I don't have a picture of David on it, but here's Grandpa and the girls (Evelyn first and Sylvia second).

Benson's Upon Us!

The Benson's came to DC! It was a BIG deal for both of Mommy's brothers (Uncle Gage and Uncle Shane) to come visit, along with Grandpa and Grandma Debi. What good fun! We went to the Capitol, Pentagon, and a few museums. We even spilt up one day. It was sooo easy to have one of the girls in a single stroller. How life would be so different!
