We decided over a month ago to try to score reservations at Restaurant Eve (www.restauranteve.com). It's consistently rated one of the top 10 restaurants in the DC area and while we had been once (on our wedding day, actually...we went for lunch), we had never experienced the tasting room. We enjoyed dinner with our friends Peter and Dori and it was wonderful. We had our choice of 5-9 courses and all of us chose 5 since I had heard of all the extras -- amuse bouche, intermesso and even pre-desserts (it was a tiny canolli). Both Dori and I are pregnant, surprisingly 4 days apart, we couldn't be as adventurous as we normally would have, but it was delicious!! It was a gastro experience that lasted nearly 4.5 hours! That's probably the last fancy meal we'll have for a while :(

Big Night Out
