We learned yesterday that there was going to be a "special event" in our courtyard for OMB employees only (there are several other Executive Office of the President agencies in our building...OSTP, OA, etc). We were informed to be in the courtyard by 11am and expect to be there no longer than 1 hour. We expected good things...we expected the POTUS (that's President of the United States for those of you not up on the lingo!). Well, it was good, but not that good, we got FLOTUS (First Lady of the United States), Michelle Obama. She came in with our Director, Peter Orzak and delivered a few short remarks. She thanked us for "keeping the midnight oil burning" working on the recovery bill and FY10 Budget. It was nice she paid a visit. Next time, the Man himself better show. There were only about 100 or so people there, so it was a nice, intimate setting. Here's a pic from the event.
